Commercial truck parking lots face some of the harshest conditions in pavement design: heavy loads, long dwell times, constant turning, and soft subgrades. Traditional asphalt and aggregate designs often fail early, creating costly repairs, downtime, and stormwater challenges.

In this webinar, Bryan Wedin, PE, Chief Civil Engineer at Presto Geosystems, will explain how the GEOWEB® Soil Stabilization System delivers long-term performance for paved and unpaved truck parking lots. Originally developed with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the GEOWEB geosynthetic system has been proven worldwide for more than 40 years in ports, distribution centers, and other heavy-duty applications.

Attendees will learn how the 3D honeycomb structure reinforces the base layer, reduces pavement and base depth requirements, and creates stable, resilient truck parking areas that drain better and last longer.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify common causes of premature failure in commercial truck parking lots and how they impact long-term maintenance costs.
  • Understand how GEOWEB® geocells function as a geosynthetic soil stabilization system that confines aggregate and distributes heavy truck loads.
  • Compare performance and cost benefits of geocell-reinforced bases versus traditional pavement and aggregate designs.
  • Evaluate design options for permeable and impermeable truck parking lots that address stormwater management requirements.
  • Apply lessons from real-world projects in ports, distribution centers, and truck parking facilities to future designs.
